The new name speaks to the company's greater offering of ingredients.
In an effort to rebrand the company as a wide supplier of “ingredient solutions,” Corn Products International (Westcester, IL) will change its name to Ingredion.
The company’s shareholders agreed to the name change earlier this week. Business in North America will proceed under the Ingredion identity next month while international markets will eventually follow suit.
Ingredion says the name change is the culmination of a changing growth strategy, which included the acquisition of National Starch (Bridgewater, NJ) in 2010.
“Service to our U.S. customers will continue uninterrupted as we make the change to Ingredion,” said Jack Fortnum, executive vice president and president of the company’s global beverage, industrial, and North America sweetener solutions. “Our teams have been integrating for two years now, so we are able to deliver an expanded set of ingredient solutions to our customers-with new ideas and technologies under continuous development.”
Visit Ingredion at booth #1211 at next month’s IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo in Las Vegas.
