Companies to Use Encapsulation to Provide New Oral-Care Product Flavors

According to the companies, “the partnership will help produce new flavor and sensory approaches that elevate consumers’ experience in products such as toothpastes, mouthwashes, and whiteners.”

Personal care ingredients firm International Specialty Products (ISP; Wayne, NJ) and Tokyo-based flavor and fragrance corporation Takasago are planning to marry ISP’s encapsulation technology with Takasago’s flavors to develop novel flavors for the oral-care products market.

According to the companies, “the partnership will help produce new flavor and sensory approaches that elevate consumers’ experience in products such as toothpastes, mouthwashes, and whiteners.”

“These sensory benefits give oral-care marketers many possibilities for new products,” added Jim Mish, senior vice president and general manager for ISP Personal Care.
