Ingredients supplier Bioiberica (Barcelona) is committing itself to becoming climate neutral by 2050. The company outlined its goals and sustainability strategies in its new 2023 Climate Strategy Report.

The company says it is planning to operate on 100% renewable energy by 2024, reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030, and become climate neutral by 2050.

Energy efficiency leads Bioiberica’s strategies, and the company has implemented an energy-management system to help it identify further opportunities for efficiencies. The company is also working on minimizing water consumption, sanitizing wastewater from its production processes.

“Bioiberica’s production is based on a 100% circular economy, using manufacturing processes designed to minimize the consumption of water, energy, and auxiliary raw materials,” said Luis Solera, Bioiberica’s CEO, in a press release.
