The company has globally increased prices by approximately 12%.
BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany) has globally increased prices by approximately 12%, effective immediately, for all of its natural-identical carotenoid formulations containing canthaxanthin, citranaxanthin, C30-ester, and beta-carotene.
The company’s products affected are all grades for human and animal nutrition: Lucarotin, beta-carotene, Lucantin Red, Lucantin Yellow, and Lucantin CX Forte. However, Lucantin Pink (astaxanthin) is not affected by the price hike.
The company says that all existing contracts will be honored and says that the increased prices compensate for negative impacts resulting from a combination of increased energy and raw material prices, higher logistics costs, and negative exchange rates.
