The new technology is called Uplift Taste Modification Technology.
Bartek Ingredients Inc. (Stoney Creek, ON, Canada), a supplier of malic acid, fumaric acid, and maleic anhydride, is launching a new tool for enhancing the taste of gummy supplements. The new technology is called Uplift Taste Modification Technology. The company will introduce Uplift at the Vitafoods Europe trade show taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 9-12, (Booth F284).
According to Bartek, Uplift “effectively enhances and modulates taste and precisely controls unique flavor and sour onset, peak, and linger in confectionery and VMS gummy applications.” It can also create authentic fruit flavors and sour flavor profiles that the company says typically can’t be achieved using sodium citrate alone. Finally, it can enhance juicy and tarte notes and extend their flavor as the consumer chews the product, “offering formulators new and innovative ways to craft unmatched eating experiences for consumers.”
At Vitafoods Europe, Bartek will demonstrate other solutions for gummies as well. For instance, it will showcase its Pecmate pectin enhancer, which is designed as a “unique buffer” to overcome challenges of working with pectin in gummy supplements.
