Food-grade algae supplier Nutress BV (Ochten, Netherlands) is partnering up to bring its ingredients to the Benelux market. Distributor Azelis (Antwerp, Belgium) will bring Nutress’s chlorella ingredients, including frozen (IQF) ingredients, dried flakes, dried sheets, and powders, to the food and beverage, health, and pet food industries.
“The time to engage in algae for the food, feed, and pharma industry is now,” said Steven Swinnen, managing director, Azelis Benelux, in a press release. “At the junction of commodities and specialties, we will focus on bringing Nutress’s superior algae to our current food, health, and pet food client base.”
Nutress’s algae strains include Chlorella sorokiniana and Chlorella vulgaris.
“Azelis has sound, exhaustive knowledge of the food market and will be positioning Nutress highly,” said Reinier Smit, Nutress’s CEO.
