AHPA Adds to Standard Operating Procedures Templates

The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA; Silver Spring, MD) has added to its standard operating procedure (SOP) GMP templates that specifically address variance issues. The association now offers more than 30 templates, which can be purchased at its online bookstore.

AHPA points out that under FDA’s regulations for dietary supplement GMPs, any variances in manufacturing must be detected, investigated, documented, explained, and addressed. The association says that its SOP templates can especially help newer companies by providing a framework for examining their current SOPs.
