ACG Promotes Cost-Efficient Capsule-Filling Technology

ACG North America LLC (South Plainfield, NJ) is promoting its Flofit capsules that enable the liquid filling of hard gelatin capsules followed by band sealing.

According to the company, Flofit is a cost-effective alternative to soft gelatin capsules and eliminates many of the problems associated with the liquid filling of soft capsules, such as potential cross-contamination and product waste.

Flofit capsules are available in HPMC and gelatin and contain no plasticizers that can lead to the migration of the drug into the capsule shell. They also offer enhanced bioavailability and improved product stability, the company says. Their low-moisture intake makes them suitable for moisture-sensitive drugs, and their low permeability effectively masks taste and odor. A range of colors and bands are available.
