Seen at NPEW: Hibiscus Extract for UTIs

Utirose has been shown to reduce incidences of urinary tract infections (UTIs), especially among women who experience reoccurring UTIs.

At the Natural Products Expo West show, Naturex (Avignon, France) promoted Utirose, a natural hibiscus flower extract (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.)developed by Burgundy Botanical Extracts that the company says has been shown to reduce incidences of urinary tract infections (UTIs), especially among women who experience reoccurring UTIs. The company says Utirose is extracted using a patented process. It contains different organic acids (hibiscus acid, protocatechuic acid, and citric acid); anthocyanins (delphinidin-3-sambubioside, or hibiscin); flavonoids; and proanthocyanidins, or PACs.
