PureCircle (Chicago, IL) has announced changes to its executive team. Peter Lai Hock Meng will become the chief executive officer (CEO) on March 2, 2020 and Stephane Ducroux is deputy CEO, effective immediately. Lai is currently the advisor to the board for matters relating to China and is the chairman and legal representative of one of the company's subsidiaries in China. Ducroux, prior to being promoted, was PureCircle’s chief commercial officer.

On November 14, 2019, the firm announced that its CEO Magomet Malsagov had voluntarily stepped aside as CEO and board member on a temporary basis to serve as advisor to the chairman. Since then, Malsagov resigned from his role as advisor to the chairman.

John Slosar is the interim CEO until March 2, 2020, then will continue his role as non-executive chairman. “I know Peter and Stephane well and have great confidence in them,” said Slosar, in a press release. “They bring the right balance of familiarity with the company, fresh perspective and expertise needed to help lead PureCircle to new heights of innovation, customer partnership and growth.”

Also joining the new leadership team is Jimmy Lim Kian Thong as chief financial officer on February 4, 2020 when he is also expected to join the board.
