Certified Nutraceuticals Inc. (San Diego, CA) announced the results of new, unpublished research that confirms the immunostimulatory effects of its KollaJell jellyfish collagen. According to Certified Nutraceuticals, the jellyfish collagen stimulates the production of cytokines, which signals white blood cells to activate the immune system’s defenses. A multifaceted ingredient, KollaJell offers a number of important benefits.
To begin with, the patented hydrolyzed jellyfish collagen type I, II, and V is bound to natural minerals, and contains naturally occurring chondroitin, hyaluronic acid, mucopolysaccharides, and glucosamine, making it an ideal solution to support joint health. The jellyfish collagen is also the only type of collagen to contain the amino acid tryptophan and glutamic acid in large numbers, says Certified Nutraceuticals. This makes the ingredient useful to support cognitive function. For example, the amino acids glutamic acid, serine, and tryptophan – all found in KollaJell – are key for controlling the homeostasis of the gut-brain axis, as well as essential for serotonin production, induction of immune response, improvements in gut barrier function, and even enteric and central nervous system function.
