The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN; Washington, D.C.) has announced that Duffy MacKay, ND, CRN’s senior vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs for the past 10 years, will be departing the trade group on March 15. MacKay has accepted a position as senior vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs with CV Sciences (San Diego, CA).
“It has been an immense privilege to have Duffy’s service and leadership over the past decade, and we are grateful for all of his contributions to CRN and to our industry,” said Steve Mister, president and CEO of CRN, in a press release. “We wish Duffy all the best as he leaves CRN for this exciting opportunity, and we look forward to seeing his continued success.”
Andrew Shao, PhD, will be taking MacKay’s place as the interim senior vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs, starting March 1. Shao had led CRN’s science and regulatory team prior to MacKay from 2005-2011. Shao has nearly two decades of experience in the global nutrition industry, most recently as regulatory and policy science director for Amway/Nutralite (Ada, MI).
