Researchers are conducting a yearlong trial on tocotrienol supplementation in subjects who have suffered ischemic stroke, according to tocotrienol supplier Carotech Inc. (Edison, NJ).

Carotech reports that the “Natural Tocotrienol Against Ischemic Stroke Event” trial will follow 210 volunteers taking palm tocotrienols for up to 12 months. Researchers will look for changes in platelet function and cholesterol as a result of tocotrienol supplementation.
