In the wake of the passing of founder Muhammed Majeed, PhD, Sami-Sabinsa Group has announced that Majeed’s daughter Anju Majeed, PhD, will be assuming the role of Sami-Sabinsa Group’s executive chairperson, while Majeed’s son Shaheen Majeed will be the company’s global managing director and CEO.

In the wake of the passing of Muhammed Majeed, PhD, the founder and chairman of Sami-Sabinsa Group, the company has announced that Majeed’s daughter Anju Majeed, PhD, will be assuming the role of Sami-Sabinsa Group’s executive chairperson, while Majeed’s son Shaheen Majeed will be the company’s global managing director and CEO.

Anju Majeed earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Rutgers University in microbiology and molecular genetics. She also has a master’s degree in biological sciences from Johns Hopkins and earned her PhD in microbiology from Bharathidasan University. Between 2001 and 2005, Anju was a National Institute of Health Research Fellow and has expertise in in SAS and clinical SAS database management.

Effective April 1, 2024, Shaheen Majeed will be inducted on the Board of Directors of the Sami-Sabinsa Group, and head the company as Global Managing Director and CEO. Shaheen has held multiple roles in the company, culminating in being President Worldwide for four years. For 25 years, Shaheen played a key role in growing the company into a global leader. Prior to taking his new role at Sabinsa, Shaheen served as CEO of BGG World’s three subsidiaries: HB Natural Ingredients, BGG Americas, and Algae Health Sciences.
