Entering the category of organic dietary supplements is a bit easier with new guidance for organic dietary supplements, courtesy of the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA; Silver Spring, MD) and organic certifier QAI (San Diego).
The free guidance includes a broad overview of how to stay in compliance when manufacturing and marketing organic teas, extracts, vitamins and minerals from plants, and even tablets and capsules. Compliance requirements differ depending on the desired marketing language, such as “100% organic” and “made with organic [specific ingredients],” but AHPA and QAI’s guidance clearly explains each.
From farming to packaging, complying with the USDA’s organic guidelines is a must. And for the novice manufacturer, guidance should make doing it all that much easier.
HHS announces restructuring plans to consolidate divisions and downsize workforce

DOJ asks Utah court to dismiss FTC lawsuit against Xlear Inc.
March 11th 2025On March 10, the DOJ and the defendant filed a stipulation to dismiss with prejudice the lawsuit in which each party agrees “to be responsible for its own costs and fees and agrees that no party shall be responsible to any other party for any fines, costs, fees, or penalties arising from this case.”
