TSI to Supply Cargill’s Vegetarian Glucosamine in China

Cargill (Minneapolis) has named TSI Group Ltd. (Shanghai) as its exclusive supplier of Regenasure vegetarian glucosamine in China, according to a joint press release.

Regenasure is unique in that, unlike traditional glucosamine ingredients, it isn’t derived from shellfish. While TSI already markets its own non-shellfish glucosamine (GlucosaGreen) under Cargill’s patent, the company will be pleased to have more supply options.

“The China market needs choices,” said TSI CEO Joe Zhou in an interview with Nutritional Outlook. “Regenasure is the only non-shellfish glucosamine manufactured outside of China, while GlucosaGreen is produced under Cargill’s patented process in China. TSI offers both choices as well as high-quality technical and regulatory support to the Chinese customers.”
