The Nutritional Outlook Podcast Episode 9: What does new FDA leadership mean for the dietary supplement industry?
FDA has been without official leadership since the start of the Biden administration, and the confirmation of Robert Califf, MD, marks the end of a period of transition at the agency. Cara Welch, PhD, has also been chosen to helm ODSP. So, what does this new FDA leadership mean for the dietary supplement industry.
In this episode, the Nutritional Outlook editors interview Robert Durkin, Of Counsel, for Arnall Golden Gregory LLP’s FDA and Healthcare practices. Previously, Durkin worked as the acting director and deputy director of the Office of Dietary Supplement Programs, in the FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition. Given Durkin’s experience at FDA, he is well-qualified to provide some insights into how the leadership of FDA’s recently confirmed commissioner Robert Califf, MD, may affect the dietary supplement industry.
