Sweet Green Fields Earns Stevia Patents
New patents cover high-purity Reb A from stevia and a novel extraction process.
Sweet Green Fields (Bellingham, WA) has received Australia and New Zealand patents for its production of high-purity Rebaudioside A (Reb A) from stevia. The patents cover Reb A production at 99% purity and higher.
Sweet Green Fields says there are no other existing patents for such high purity levels of stevia sweetener.
In addition to the purity patents, the company also earned patents for its Fast Precipitation Process in Australia, New Zealand, China, and Mexico. The extraction process is reported to be 33 to 50% faster than conventional extraction methods.
