Sweet Green Fields will provide locally grown stevia for Zevia natural sodas.
Stevia producer Sweet Green Fields LLC (SGF; Bellingham, WA) has signed a multi-year agreement to supply California-grown stevia for Zevia (Culver City, CA) zero-calorie sodas.
Zevia is a producer of natural, stevia-sweetened sodas that are free from artificial sweeteners, colors, flavors, and preservatives. According to Sweet Green Fields, Zevia is the first and only brand to exclusively market natural, zero-calorie sodas.
Sweet Green Fields recently announced its first commercial harvest of stevia local to California. Commercial harvest of the plant is usually done in regions like Africa, Asia, and South America.
Zevia CEO Paddy Spence notes the importance of a local stevia, “…given that our consumer places high value on products that utilize locally grown ingredients.” All stevia in this business agreement will be grown in California.
