Research and development firm Metabolic Technologies Inc. (MTI) has created a new form of the sports nutrition product HMB.
Research and development firm Metabolic Technologies Inc. (MTI) has created a new form of the sports nutrition product HMB (beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate). According to the company, recently published studies have shown that this form of HMB, utilizing the free acid state of the compound, allows for faster absorption, greater peak plasma concentrations, improved utilization, and greater retention. The company says research has indicated that HMB free acid optimizes delivery time to help achieve maximum efficacy during exercise and makes HMB more readily available to muscle tissues, resulting in enhanced strength and power gains, increases in lean mass, and prevention of the decline in “readiness to train” following intense training according to studies conducted on trained athletes.
