BI Nutraceuticals will be sampling brownies made with chia, as well as discussing recently launched offerings, including baobab fruit powder and quinoa. The firm says that chia seeds deliver the highest levels of total omega-3 fatty acids by weight of any common foods, are a complete vegan source of protein, offer more fiber than common grains, contain no gluten or cholesterol, and provide a comprehensive range of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and essential amino acids. The brownies being showcased are said to have great taste, consistency, and mouthfeel, without a seed-like texture. They also contain 50% less fat than traditional brownies and deliver 250 mg of omega-3 fatty acids per serving.
