Lipid Nutrition’s (Channahon, IL) PinnoThin satiety ingredient has been Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by FDA.
The company says that FDA issued a “no objections” letter to the GRAS petition. (Prior to its FDA submission, PinnoThin, derived from Korean pine nut oil, had only self-determined GRAS status.)
The company says that the new FDA GRAS opinion affirms that PinnoThin is safe for food products including baked goods and baking mixes, beverages and beverage bases, breakfast cereals, dairy product analogs, fats and oils, grain products and pasts, fluid milk and milk products, nuts and nut products, processed fruits and vegetables as well as their juices, snack foods, soft candy, and soup products.
