The company's self-affirmed GRAS status for aloe vera gel and powder signals its entry into the food and drink arena.
Pharmachem Laboratories Inc. (Kearny, NJ) has secured self-affirmed GRAS status for its aloe vera inner gel and aloe vera leaf powders. While these aloe ingredients are widely used in topical products and dietary supplements, Pharmachem says it is receiving increased interest in aloe ingredients for foods and beverages. The company has remained focused on the aloe category ever since acquiring Improve USA (DeSoto, TX) in 2012.
