The pawpaw tree produces the largest edible fruit native to North America. It is the only temperate plant within the Annonaceae family of plants which includes many tropical fruits such as cherimoya, which is native to Ecuador and Peru. Pawpaw trees grow naturally in 26 states throughout the Eastern U.S., and in Southwestern Ontario, Canada.

January 10th 2025Fun fact! Horseradish can be difficult to eradicate once it’s established. This is because the smallest piece of root can grow a new plant. Additionally, the plant spreads by underground shoots that out-compete most other plants which means horseradish can become invasive if not maintained.
