Office of Dietary Supplements Publishes New Encyclopedia
The Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS), a division of the National Institutes of Health, has published the second edition of its Encyclopedia of Dietary Supplements. ODS says the new edition now contains chapters on several botanicals, including Aloe vera, bilberry, bitter orange (Citrus aurantium), black cohosh (Actaea racemosa and Cimicifuga racemosa), kava (Piper methysticum), and saw palmetto (Serenoa repens).
The American Herbal Products Associations’ chief science officer, Steven Dentali, PhD, and chief operations officer, Devon Powell, helped coauthor the Aloe vera chapter.
