The company's manufacturing process reduces heavy metals while concentrating fucoxanthin content.
Nutraceuticals International LLC (Elmwood Park, NJ) has received a U.S. patent for the proprietary manufacturing process of its FucoPure fucoxanthin extract.
Fucoxanthin is a carotenoid found in brown seaweed and promoted primarily for weight loss support.
The company says its unique manufacturing process results in a concentrated fucoxanthin without high amounts of heavy metals and iodine that are typical of fucoxanthin. While Japanese Wakame seaweed naturally provides 0.01% fucoxanthin, the company’s process can result in up to 10.8% fucoxanthin.
