Novel Whey Protein Stable at High Temperatures

Arla Foods Ingredients updates its whey ingredients line with Lacprodan DI-7017.

Arla Foods Ingredients (Viby J, Denmark) has updated its whey ingredients line with Lacprodan DI-7017, a whey protein concentrate for ultra-high temperature formulations.

“Whey protein is notoriously hard to incorporate into ultra-high temperature processes, which are widely used to manufacture clinical nutrition beverages with a long shelf life,” says the company. “As a result, manufacturers have until now tended to use alternative and less nutritionally effective proteins, such as casein, when formulating beverages for use in clinical nutrition.”

Stable in acid and pH neutral formulations, Lacprodan DI-7017 is suitable for a variety of product types-especially milk-based beverages so often used for whey protein clinical nutrition beverages.
