The U.S. Pharmacopoeia (USP; Rockville, MD) has opened a public comment period for its newly proposed Food Chemicals Codex (FCC), to be published in August 2012. This edition of the FCC will include standards for several new items, including probiotics, steviol glycosides, benzoates, infant formula, and flavoring ingredients.
Already featuring over 1000 monographs, the FCC is an ongoing collection of internationally recognized standards for ingredient purities and identities. Interested parties can submit comments on the FCC by clicking the link above (look for the “Call to Comment” notice on the upper right section of the web page).
