Functional pancake and muffin brand FlapJacked has launched a first-of-its kind muffin: a high-protein, microwavable probiotic muffin. Each Mighty Muffin contains 20 g of protein and the patented probiotic strain Ganeden BC30 for immune-health support.
Ganeden BC30 is the hardy strain of spore-forming Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086, that can withstand a range of temperatures and cooking conditions, including high heat in a microwave. With Mighty Muffins, users add water and microwave the muffin for 35 seconds for a warm meal or snack.
“Being a functional, protein-packed, and convenient product positions FlapJacked to partner with retailers who are focused on providing functional foods to deliver on growing consumer demands,” said Jennifer Bacon, FlapJacked cofounder, in a press release.
Each mighty muffin is less than 230 calories and is gluten free and high in fiber. Four flavors are available.
