Kiss My Face’s Suncare Line Co-Brands with Hydresia Ingredient

Published on:

Hydresia is an all-natural, plant-based, oleosome ingredient.

Kiss My Face says it is the first to co-brand sunscreens featuring Botaneco’s (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) Hydresia ingredient. Hydresia is an all-natural, plant-based, oleosome ingredient that is said to boost SPF in sunscreen products, especially when UVA and UVB sunscreen filters are used. Kiss My Face is promoting its use of Hydresia by including the ingredient logo on its product packaging.

Oleosomes are found in oil-bearing plant seeds such as safflower, almond, and sunflower seeds. Together, the companies together also co-developed a new addition to the Kiss My Face sunscreen line, an SPF 40 mineral sunscreen that is said to blend into the skin clear, without the whitening effects typically seen with natural sunscreens. Botaneco says that as a result of their unique structure, oleosomes are effective oil-in-water emulsifiers that quickly absorb in the skin and do not leave a soapy residue like many natural emulsifying systems on the market.
