The new “umbrella patent” covers use with a broad range of nutrients, including CoQ10, omega-3, curcumin, vitamin D, and resveratrol.
A technology for increasing ingredient absorption has gained another U.S. patent. The new “umbrella patent” covers the use of VESIsorb from SourceOne Global Partners LLC for a broad range of nutrients, including CoQ10, omega-3, curcumin, vitamin D, resveratrol, tocotrienols, citrus polymethoxylated flavones, and more.
The technology is described as a colloidal delivery system. As SourceOne states:
This totally unique and unmatched system dramatically improves the absorption of an array of insoluble or poorly soluble nutrients, enabling them to completely dissolve in water, consequently providing the ability to maximize the effectiveness and beneficial results of every ingredient that utilizes this process. It is far superior to any competitive product or process, as its unique self-assembling process goes to work instantly, producing a solution that is completely dissolved and never settles out.
The system’s ability to increase absorption is supported by numerous studies, says SourceOne Global Partners. For instance, a double-blind study published in Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine found that a VESIsorb-enhanced CoQ10 formula had superior bioavailability compared with other “bio-enhanced” CoQ10 formulations. Compared with an oil-based formula, the VESIsorb formula had 622% higher bioavailability. In another study, a crossover pilot study, an omega-3 formulation also showed a 487% bioavailability boost with VESIsorb.
The new U.S. patent number is 8,158,134.
