Besides drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated during heat waves, you can also eat food with water content higher than 80%. For example, cucumber and iceberg lettuce are 96% water, celery is 95% water, and tomatoes are 94% water. Vegetables such as zucchini and asparagus are 94% and 92% water respectively, and retain this water content when cooked. Other vegetables’ water content increases during cooking such as cabbage and cauliflower, which contain 94% and 93% water, respectively, when cooked.
