Human Study Supports BioCell Collagen for Osteoarthritis
Researchers assigned subjects with physician-confirmed osteoarthritis to supplement with 2 g of BioCell Collagen or placebo for 70 days.
Fresh off the success of a human trial on BioCell Collagen and skin health, BioCell Technology LLC (Newport Beach, CA) says its signature ingredient has demonstrated osteoarthritis support in a study on 80 human subjects.
Researchers assigned subjects with physician-confirmed osteoarthritis (in the hip and/or knee joint) to supplement with 2 g of BioCell Collagen or placebo for 70 days. At days 1, 35, and 70, subjects answered Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and WOMAC pain questionairres.
Compared to placebo, BioCell Collagen supplementation was associated with better VAS and WOMAC scores and significant improvement in physical activities.
The study is now published in the Journal of Agricultural Food and Chemistry.
