Frost & Sullivan deemed Cargill's plant sterols to be unique to the market.
Frost & Sullivan has awarded Cargill Inc. (Minneapolis) with its North American Product Leadership Award for Cargill’s CoroWise plant sterols.
Plant sterols, also called phytosterols, are found in multiple animal species and plants. Because they bear a similar appearance to cholesterol, plant sterols can reduce the amount of cholesterol absorbed into the bloodstream, thereby reducing human cholesterol levels. Plant sterols also hold an FDA-approved health claim for heart disease risk reduction.
Frost & Sullivan awarded Cargill with the award because CoroWise exhibits organoleptic properties and enhanced solubility that make it unique to its market. CoroWise can be incorporated into foods, beverages, and dietary supplements.
