Gelita AG (Eberbach, Germany) is selling its 49% of total shares in R.P. Scherer GmbH & Co. KG (Eberbach, Germany) to Catalent Pharma Solutions Inc. (Somerset, NJ). R.P. Scherer, a capsule technologies developer, is a subsidiary of Catalent.
Gelita says its stock in R.P. Scherer was purely a financial investment and does not reflact any tie to its corebusiness. Gelita will still supply R.P. Scherer with gelatin, energy, fresh water, and other resources.
The transaction must be approved by regulatory authorities before it is complete.
