Stress-Less is said to be the first beverage to feature GRAS-affirmed KSM-66.
Spice Pharm now includes Ixoreal Biomed Private Ltd.’s (Hyderabad, India) KSM-66 patented ashwagandha(Withania somnifera) ingredient in its line of stress-fighting instant drink mixes. Clinical trials have shown KSM-66 ashwagandha reduces levels of cortisol and perceived stress. Spice Pharm’s Stress-Less Instant Elixirs are patent-pending combinations of spices and botanicals meant to reduce elevated cortisol levels associated with chronic stress and to promote a healthy inflammatory response. Stress-Less is said to be the first beverage to feature GRAS-affirmed KSM-66.
“KSM-66 is perfect for our elixir mixes,” states Kitty Wells, cofounder and CEO of Spice Pharm. “Ashwagandha is one of the most revered herbs of India for its stress-relieving activity, and KSM-66 meets all our requirements for quality, scientific proof of efficacy, full-spectrum active constituents, and no harmful residual solvents.”
Spice Pharm says recent research at Carnegie-Mellon University showed a link between stress and inflammation. “Stress alters the effectiveness of the hormone cortisol in regulating the inflammatory response where it decreases tissue sensitivity to cortisol,” the company stated in a press release. “Specifically, immune cells become insensitive to cortisol’s regulatory effect. As a result, inflammation may be more prevalent leading to the progression of many diseases.”
