Freekeh Foods is best known for introducing freekeh, a lesser known Middle Eastern grain, to U.S. consumers. The company promotes the grain as a fiber-rich and protein-packed alternative to rice and quinoa. Now, Freekeh Foods has achieved organic certification for its line of roasted freekeh products, available in original, tamari, and rosemary sage flavors.
This versatile grain can be eaten alone, served as an oatmeal alternative, and even combined into meatballs. Freekeh Foods will make its organic products available at a variety of retailers over the coming months. Oregon Tilth provides the organic certification.
