The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN; Washington, DC) has announced joint efforts with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Foundation to raise awareness of the importance of dietary supplements and the role of nurse practitioners in modern health.

On its website, CRN plans to provide fact sheets and other information about nurse practitioners and the services they offer.

Eighty-seven percent of nurse practitioners agree that dietary supplements can play an important role in improving and maintaining the health of their patients, according to results from CRN’s 2009 “Life…supplemented” Healthcare Professionals Impact Study.

“We want consumers to know nurse practitioners can be a trusted source of health information,” said CRN president and CEO Steve Mister.
