Company Launches Ingredient for Anti-Aging of Legs

Sederma (Le Perray-en-Yvelines, France) has officially launched Legance, a cosmetic ingredient intended to combat leg discomfort and premature aging. Derived from shampoo ginger (Zungiber zerumbet), Legance reportedly works by restoring leg circulation and inhibiting inflammation that leads to lipid storage and water retention in legs. Other purported benefits include slender legs and attenuated spider veins.

Sederma says its ingredient is backed by two human studies and in vitro tests illustrating the ingredient’s mechanism of action.

Legance is obtained by a process of supercritical CO2 extraction.
