The company is touting the ingredients’ benefits, which may include aiding age-related macular degeneration and supporting overall eye health. Lutein and zeaxanthin have also shown benefits for skin health, including photoprotective properties and hydration.
“Furthermore, our lutein is viable as a food colorant and nutrient additive. Lutein can convert to 3’-epilutein and anhydrolutein I in an acidic medium as well as during different cooking methods,” adds the company’s general manager Carol Cheow.
