Cactus Botanics Launches Epimedium Powder

Cactus Botanics (Shanghai) is now offering epimedium, or horny goat weed, powder extract. The ingredient is touted for male energy and bone health.

Isolated from epimedium, icariin is a prenylated flavonol glycoside. It has also been shown to exert beneficial effects in supporting against postmenopause bone loss. Moreover, Cactus Botanics states that a recent in vitro study on the effects of enhancing differentiation and mineralization of cultured rat calvarial osteoblasts concluded that icarrin has stronger osteogenic activity than the soy isoflavone genistein.

The company says that it is stocked with an entire year’s production of the ingredient and also has good supply in its New York warehouse of the most popular specification for the ingredient, epimedium powder extract icariins 10%. Other specifications are also available.
