Botanic Innovations (Spooner, WI) has added cold-pressed organic blackberry seed oil(Rubus fructicosus) to its extensive line of plant-based oils and flours.
Blackberry seed oil is a source of vitamin E tocotrienols and tocopherols, and various carotenoids such as lutein and zeaxanthin. The ingredient also boasts a fat profile predominantly made up of polyunsaturated fats, including omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). Botanic Innovations says its seed oils come from a certified organic process that utilizes low temperatures and no chemicals or synthetic solvents.
The ingredient is best suited for cosmetic and nutraceutical applications.
