Artemis International (Ft. Wayne, IN), a company specializing in dark berry extracts, has launched a line of ingredients under the new branded name Berryceuticals. The company is offering the ingredients to food, beverage, supplement, and cosmeceutical companies.
The line includes flavonoid-rich extracts from the following dark fruits: elderberry, aroniaberry, bilberry, cranberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, and others. In 2017, the company says it is highlighting the immune-enhancing properties of the elderberry. It says it produces its elderberry extract using a proprietary process called Holistic Membrane Extraction that “delivers the whole fruit matrix in final ingredient form for maximizing extract efficacy.”
The company points to the health benefits associated with dark berries in particular. “For the past 22 years, Artemis has been committed to developing and supplying the best science-based dark berry extracts for our customers,” said Jan Mills, founder and CEO, Artemis International, in a press release. “Never has there been a better time to put our stamp on this booming category, with the ongoing news about the health benefits of dark-colored fruits and veggies, especially berries. We’re doing just this by branding the term Berryceuticals and making it our own.”
