Colorcon Inc. (Harleysville, PA), a supplier of functional excipients and other ingredients for the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and animal health industries, has introduced a new label-friendly excipient line for nutritional products called Nutracore.

The Nutracore portfolio includes natural excipients for tablets and capsules, the firm says. These ingredients enable “unique flow, compressibility, and lubricity that make even the most difficult ingredients easy to make into tablets and capsules,” said Ali Rajabi-Siahboomi, PhD, Colorcon’s vice president and chief innovation officer, in a press release.

The company says it can be difficult to find easy-to-use natural and sustainable excipients but that Nutracore ingredients fit the bill. “We understand that manufacturers are looking for more efficient and consistent manufacturing performance for natural products that also meet the increasing consumer demands for sustainability and clean label,” said Kurt Fegely, the company’s vice president of excipient technologies, in a press release. “Unlike traditional ingredients, Nutracore label-friendly excipients are made from natural materials and designed for manufacturability, meaning producers will be able to meet label-friendly consumer needs for nutritional and dietary supplements without compromising on performance.”
