AIDP Inc. (City of Industry, CA) announced that it has acquired the core technology and related intellectual property of Olygose SAS (France), including the transfer of patents, manufacturing technology, trademarks, pre-clinical and clinical studies, regulatory certificates, and other intellectual know-how. Olygose formed in 2009 with a focus on developing and producing prebiotic ingredients sourced from sustainable plant-based raw materials, primarily peas. Its best-known brands include Olygose, AlphaGOS, and CravingZ’Gone, for which AIPD now assumes the rights associated.
As part of the acquisition, AIDP has also secured a new technology for extracting proteins and prebiotics from peas. So, in addition to the galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) prebiotic brands, AIDP can now offer new soluble pea protein with a neutral taste, which has great commercial value for vegan functional foods and vegan-based protein drinks, shows, and other liquid formulations.
