On September 21, New York City will host “Vitamin D: Beyond Bone,” a one-day scientific symposium on vitamin D. Nutritional Outlook was informed of the news by the event’s promotional partner, the Council for Responsible Nutrition (Washington, DC).
Topics to be presented at the event include recent changes to vitamin D dietary guidelines; new population data and known mechanisms for vitamin D’s effects on pregnancy and immune, metabolic, muscle, and cardio function; and steps in using research data to form public health strategies for infants, adults, and the elderly.
The New York Academy of Sciences, The Sackler Institute for Nutrition Science, and the Abbott Nutrition Health Institute will present this vitamin D symposium.
