MultiGrain Makeup
Origins has introduced Multi-Grain, an SPF-14 mineral foundation line with added nutrients for the skin. "If the first meal of the day is the most important, consider Multi-Grain Makeup SPF 14, fortified with oats, vitamins, and minerals, breakfast for your skin," says the brand.

The patent-pending formula is packed with nutritious ingredients. Organic oats, organic tapioca, soy, rice flour, wheat germ, and barley immediately bond to the skin. Silica absorbs excess oil. Vitamins C and E maintain skin health, while pomegranate and gogi berry help to protect against free radicals. Other ingredients include shea butter, titanium dioxide for SPF protection, and natural mineral clay pigments.

Hair Care Line Treats Acne
Kairos Acne Care Solutions is touted as the first-ever hair care line developed to treat acne. According to the brand, moisturizing ingredients in standard hair care products can cause overproduction of oil on the skin of the neck, ears, jaw line, chest, back, and face, leading to clogged pores and acne. Instead, Kairos products contain natural botanical oils that do not clog the skin. Also, several products are formulated with salicylic acid to fight acne.

On-the-Clock Repair
Estée Lauder's new Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex features the company's Chronolux Technology. According to Estée Lauder, Chronolux Technology addresses how the skin's clock genes operate so that skin can be repaired at exactly the right time during the body's natural circadian cycle.

"Healthy skin cells maximize repair-functioning at night through a symphony of precisely timed repair responses based on the body's natural circadian cycle," says the brand. It says DNA skin cell repair is synchronized by each skin cell's clock genes.

"With age and repeated exposure to environmental stresses, these clock genes can become out of sync, causing cellular repair and protective processes to slow down," adds the brand.

Precious Stones
To create its new line of skin creams, Carita Paris extracted vitamins and minerals from precious stones. The brand says that this is a growing trend in the beauty and spa industry.

Using stone extracts, Carita created three creams: Pearl of Youth (for skin luminosity), Gold Serum (to detoxify pores and tone skin), and Diamond Cream (pictured). The company says that in clinical tests, Diamond Cream was shown to improve the skin of 57 test subjects-women between the ages of 40 and 60.
