OptiPure promoted IncaCartilago, which the company calls the first full-spectrum chondroitin ingredient for joint and bone health. The ingredient is derived from Humboldt squid, which the company says has shown molecular-profile benefits compared to other typical chondroitin sources such as bovine, porcine, or shark sources. The company says that Humboldt squid-derived chondroitin sulfate is sulfated at carbons 4 and 6 of glucuronic acid, while others from bovine, porcine, and shark sources only exhibit one site of sulfation.
