According to retail analytics provider ClearCut, supplement sales on Amazon experienced 54% year-over-year growth.
According to retail analytics provider ClearCut (Chicago, IL), supplement sales on Amazon experienced 54% year-over-year growth as of May 2021. Probiotics lead sales of dietary supplements on the platform, following by multivitamins, collagen, omegas, and vitamin D, which collectively saw an average of 60% year-over-year growth. Vitamin D had the fifth highest revenue but the greatest year-over-year growth of 87% due to its immense demand when the pandemic began for immune support. Similarly, zinc experienced 160% year-over-year growth.
However, ClearCut points out that immune health sales are declining, including zinc and vitamin D, while other products with immense growth rates such as apple cider vinegar (+81% year-over-year growth), and melatonin (+98% year-over-year growth) are seeing steady long-term sales growth in 2021. In addition to melatonin and apple cider vinegar, ClearCut says that collagen, ashwagandha, and aminos are the three supplements to watch. Each experienced 63%, 67%, and 34% year-over-year growth respectively. When it comes to aminos, the form to look out for is tablet form, instead of powder form which makes up 90% market share. On its own, amino tablets saw 64% year-over-year growth.
