North American Reishi Ltd. is launching two new mushroom ingredients, ErgoGold, and mushroom-derived vitamin D.
North American Reishi Ltd. (Nammex; Gibson, BC, Canada) is launching two new mushroom ingredients, ErgoGold, and mushroom-derived vitamin D. Nammex explains in a press release that ErgoGold is a powder extract of Golden Oyster mushrooms that delivers a therapeutic amount of ergothioneine (ergo) with a full complement of other therapeutic compounds that include beta-glucans, ergosterol, insoluble and soluble fiber and secondary metabolites. Ergo is food derived antioxidant that can be found in high amounts in certain fungi. Nammex states that ErgoGold is ideal for those with yeast sensitivities and for those who want non-synthetic and full spectrum ingredients.
Nammex explains that its mushroom-derived vitamin D is manufactured by using pulsed UV light technology to convert the fungal sterol, ergosterol, into high amounts of vitamin D2. According to the company, the ingredient is ideal for consumers looking for a vegan source of vitamin D that can deliver the daily RDA of vitamin D with as little as 60 mg.
